OK, I admit it, my name is really Erin.
There's more than a couple of reasons why I just like to be Airren though. Erin is a tough name to own. When people look at the name "Erin" on paper, an amazing thing happens - instant dyslexia. Over the years I've been called Erwin, Ernie, Ernest, Irene, Ariel, & my special favorite, Ir-Inn, so close, so clueless. On the other hand, if I tell people over the phone that my name is Erin, they assume that it's spelled A-A-R-O-N. All this never bothered me until lately. In the old days, I was the only Erin. THE ERIN. Oh sure, there were Aarons, so I understood the spelling problems. But now - there are Erins all over the place - everyone knows an Erin; you'd think by now humans could spell it, or at least pronounce it! I even have a friend that has two friends named Erin - and we both have the same birthday! How bizarro is that? So, I've opted to be Airren, (at least online) and make it all easier for everyone. Mostly myself though.
