I've only had one car my entire life - 1979 CJ-7.
It's a sick obsession for a girlie like me - but you must follow what makes you most happy. I don't feel *quite* the same driving any other automobile.
The Jeep came with an AMC straight six engine. After I blew that up, Franklin volunteered to do the engine conversion to a Chevy with a turbo 400 transmision, which turned my little Jeep into a pretty fast ride.
History: People have been telling me to get rid of this car since I was 18 years old. But, well...most people don't understand. The Jeep was originally my father's car. He always dreamed of having a Jeep, and when he was 54, he finally indulged himself. He drove the Jeep for a couple of years, and when I became old enough to drive, well, I took a liking to this car. Subsequently, Henry gave it to me. I'll never forget that.
Update! The Jeep has had, well, some problems of late. The motor mounts have become all askew, causing scary shifting problems with the transmission, and that Chevy engine I bought wayback in high school seems to have all but died. Well, it really didn't die, but I had to become the sparkplug queen again, and quite frankly, I don't have the time to rule that country anymore.
So, Franklin has volunteered to help me out again. Man, that guy is amazing.
This is how the Jeep looked in Los Angeles, when I was but a youth...

I've since moved back to the tundra, and got a new paint job, courtesy of that fabulous Franklin fellow.

Out with the Old

Damn, but that engine lasted 10 years; and it only cost $250!

New engine, ready to be installed....

Almost...
