Sekin is the German Shepherd-mutt on the left. I got her at the south central dog pound in Los Angeles when she was nine weeks old. She is now ten. Sekin is a very independent creature, she still believes she's human after all these years. Even when I got Rae, she refused to believe in her dog status. Her interests include fetching anything, gardening, swimming & tug games. She never tires - we're currently thinking of getting a goat for her to herd around in the backyard. Sekin knows her left hand from her right hand and I never even taught her how to shake hands, she learned it all by herself.

Sekin & Rae, Echo Park - 1994

Rae is the goofy little girlie on the right. Maybe she's part Boxer, but I really don't know for sure. Rae came to my house in Echo Park one morning at 3:00a.m. I wasn't convinced at the time that I needed two dogs so I tried to give her away to family members. Rae wouldn't cooperate, so I adopted her a short while after. Rae is now eight years old. Her interests include sleeping and following the sun. Current goals for Rae include learning to swim and remembering to breath while running fast. Rae is afraid of gun shots (and who isn't?), lightening & water.
